Jan Leen Kloosterman

Jan Leen Kloosterman is Professor of Reactor Physics at TU Delft. His research focuses on the analysis and development of nuclear reactors and fuel cycles that maximize safety and sustainability. He works toward inherently safe reactor concepts that make full use of uranium and/or thorium while minimizing long-lived nuclear waste. A central focus of his work is the development of the Thorium Molten Salt Reactor (Th-MSR). In addition, he explores medical applications of nuclear fission, including neutron irradiation for cancer treatment and the production of medical isotopes.
