Did you know that 1,3 million people migrate to a city each week? The densely populated cities are a major challenge when it comes to reaching a net-zero society. We need smart energy systems in the built environment, but what are the most convenient methods? What will the city of the future look like? This topic will be discussed, with examples of two running projects in different cities: Making City & POCITYF.

The expectation is that over two-thirds of all people will live in a city by 2050. But what is the role of citizens in such a project and how are they involved in it? Martijn de Vries and Mark de la Vieter are working on different projects with the same goal: Creating a clean city. They will share their expertise and explain what the indispensable parties are to create a smart city.
