With over 10 years of NOM experience, I remain an ‘import’ northerner, but I am now very attached and connected to the region. Not least because of the work I do! Connecting companies in the region and helping with further development. New technology, changing market demand, investments, strategic cooperation with other companies in the region and government policy; all elements that are discussed in acquisition and business development. Sometimes complex and in any case never the same. After a technical education in Delft, I spent the first 20 years of my career with operating companies of large companies, in the Netherlands and abroad (Bangkok, Thailand, Houston, USA). This industry experience now serves me well. At NOM I focus on new applications of agricultural raw materials and on strengthening and greening the chemical industry. With green raw materials, two chemical clusters in Emmen and Delfzijl and a solid knowledge ecosystem, the region has a good starting position there.
