Ruud Paap

Ruud Paap MBA works at the New Energy Coalition, the Green Gas Platform, and TKI New Gas on the development of green gas in the Netherlands. He studied at the Van Hall Institute and the University of Twente. During the first 15 years of his career, he worked in the energy and utilities sector on the transition from waste disposal to reuse and energy production, and in the past 15 years, he has been involved in the development of green gas. Ruud has extensive knowledge of the green gas value chain and a broad network in the green gas sector. At the New Energy Coalition, his activities focus on business development, and at the Green Gas Platform, he is responsible for the innovation theme. He leads the expert team there that aims to expedite the conversion of bio combined heat and power (bioWKK) to green gas, as well as the expert team that collaborates with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate on the Early Phase Scaling Scheme for gasification technology. At TKI New Gas, he supports innovative entrepreneurs in increasing gas production at lower costs. Ruud served as the project leader in the study for Energy Management Netherlands, where a regional analysis of bioresources that can be used for green gas production was conducted in 2020. Additionally, Ruud has conducted several resource potential studies for both private enterprises and governments.
